چکیده

Abstract The research on surface texture is developing from single macro-texture to composite micro-nano texture. current the anti-friction mechanism and theoretical models of textures relatively weak. Studying characteristics different types determining applicable working conditions each focus research. In this paper, a mathematical model hydrodynamic lubrication established based Navier–Stokes equations. FLUENT software used simulate analyze four models, explore dynamic pressure types, provide data support for optimization. key variable values required by are obtained through simulation data. friction coefficient under was measured wear experiments, verified experimental results. results show that circular suitable low medium speed high load conditions, chevron groove conditions. Comparing with model, it found two basically same in ranking performance textures, there an error 10%−40% value. study, proposed, solution method optimal determined.

Hydrodynamic Lubrication of Rough Surfaces

Interacting surfaces are frequently found in mechanical systems and components. A lubricant is often added between the surfaces to separate them from mechanical contact in order to increase life and performance of the contacting surfaces. In this work various aspects of hydrodynamic lubrication are investigated theoretically. This is where interacting surfaces are completely separated by a flui...

Enhancing Full-Film Lubrication Performance via Arbitrary Surface Texture Design∗

Minimizing energy loss and improving system load capacity and compactness are important objectives for fluid power systems. Recent studies reveal that micro-textured surfaces can reduce friction in full-film lubrication, and that asymmetric textures can reduce friction and increase normal force simultaneously. As an extension of these previous discoveries, we explore how enhanced texture design...
